Gomez trade could have implications for the Mets

The Brewers traded SS J.J. Hardy for former Mets CF Carlos Gomez. With the acqisition of Gomez the Brewers made it official that they will not be attmepting to bring back Mike Cameron. Another former Met center fielder who Marty Noble believes is on the Mets radar to play left field (source MLB.com).

With the deal, the Brewers said goodbye to veteran Mike Cameron, their starting centerfielder the past two seasons. Melvin called Cameron before announcing the trade to tell him they wouldn't pursue him in free agency. source JSOnline
