On a slow news day, I decided to be a little creative and compile a slide show of the potential pitchers to replace Billy Wagner. The compilation is of 21 players who have either closed, are currently closers or have the potential to close. It begins with several in-house options, then moves on to set-up men, fill-in closers and former closer who are free agents or believed to be available. It then moves on to the big name closers who are either rumored to be available via-trade or are free agents. The grand finale is several images of the player we hope to be seeing on the mound in celebratory jubilation in orange and blue.......
Hope you enjoy the show......
2009 Mets Battle cry
“It takes more than five superstars to win a World Series. Tonight was a total team effort. Stokes comes in, in that situation, and gets the best hitter in baseball to hit in to a double play. That’s what it’s going to take, you know. Fernando Martinez gets on a plane, shows up in the seventh, and gets a bunt down… Murphy hits a home run. You know, it’s a total team effort. If you’re gonna talk about team wins, tonight was a great example and that’s what we need to do.” : source Metsblog

O/T but a couple of days ago someone was saying the Mets dont have a deep farm system..
I just posted my top 20 list over at metsprospecthub.blogspot.com if you want to check it out.
I could of easily went to 30-50, but it's not that I can't think of them, it's that they would all be so close that ranking them would be extremely hard.
anyways, take a look :D
