The Mets might get stuck with a left handed corner outfielder if that's all that's available at the right price, which might explain why several left handed outfielders have been linked to the Mets. According to several people who saw the show and one of my favorite forums NYFS, ESPN's Baseball Tonight says the Mets are interested in Brian Giles.
Brian Giles is a left handed 37 y/o corner outfielder and a lifetime .293 hitter. He doesn't hit for much power anymore but would be a very nice fit as a two hitter especially if Castillo is moved to the bottom of the order when he returns. Giles is signed through the end of the year, has a limited no trade clause ( unknown which teams) and a club option for next year at 9mil with a 3mil buyout.....
