I said yesterday in a post about minor league action that Angel Pagan went 2-2 against lefty pitching and was removed from the game. Without a report my hope was that Pagan was removed after proving he was ready to hit right handed and was leaving to catch up to the team for the trip to Cincy. But Pagan left the game after experiencing pain in his shoulder during his second at-bat. I'm becoming concerned that this is one of those nagging injuries that he won't recover from until he gets some significant rest, which means the team needs to acquire an outfielder more then ever.......
Pagan had been playing in rehab games with the Mets' Class A Brooklyn affiliate, but he was removed from Wednesday's game and examined in Manhattan on Thursday. He experienced pain in his left shoulder -- the shoulder that prompted his DL assignment -- during his second at-bat. The diagnosis of his injury, sustained on May 7, was a bruise. source MLB.com
