For those of you looking at Pittsburgh to bring back either Jason Bay or Xavior Nady ( both former Mets) I think the roadblock will be Neal Huttington. The new Pirates GM seems out to prove that he's not the rest of the leagues warehouse and in doing so is hard to deal with, some say his asking prices are ridiculous. It's because of Huttington that I've basically ruled out Nady or Bay, but maybe Omar will pleasantly surprise me and why I've turned towards looking at second or even third tier players. My idea is either bring in a legitimate starting corner outfielder to get the bench back to the bench and only filling in for Church till he returns or bring in another proven major league hitter and have four guys to platoon ( Chavez, Tatis, Anderson and PTBNL) so you can avoid fatigue from guys who should be on the bench. I've mentioned several other guys who are as good as Nady or Bay, such as DeJesus and think the main reason we maybe able to obtain them over the Pittsburgh outfielders is because of the asking price......
According to various industry sources this week, the Pirates want two high-level young players and a second-tier prospect in any trade for left fielder Jason Bay and at least one top youngster and one solid prospect in return for right fielder Xavier Nady, shortstop Jack Wilson and left-handed relievers John Grabow and Damaso Marte. source Beaver County Times & Allegheny Times
