2009 Mets Battle cry

“It takes more than five superstars to win a World Series. Tonight was a total team effort. Stokes comes in, in that situation, and gets the best hitter in baseball to hit in to a double play. That’s what it’s going to take, you know. Fernando Martinez gets on a plane, shows up in the seventh, and gets a bunt down… Murphy hits a home run. You know, it’s a total team effort. If you’re gonna talk about team wins, tonight was a great example and that’s what we need to do.” : source Metsblog

"Don't feel sorry for the Metropolitans." - Alex Cora, yelling what seems to have become his motto for this team : source NJ.Com

Around the league who's reported to be available.....

Here's a few of the names who are allegedly being shopped as we head into the All-Star break.

The Rangers could look to move Milton Bradley, as I've said before I'd take his right handed bat in a second and have no concerns about his attitude. His last two teams have been very happy with his clubhouse presence and most of his angst has been directed at the opposition, umps and announcers. The Rangers could also deal Eddie Guardado, Frank Catalanotto, Hank Blalock....

Every year around the trade deadline, Milton Bradley knows that his name will come up. This season is no different, especially with Bradley having a career year. He’s hitting .316 with 19 home runs (tied for his career high) and 57 RBI. source Star-Telegram
The Orioles could look to move several of their veteran players and while Millar is probably not a match could a return of Jay Payton be in order.....

It's more likely that Kevin Millar, Jay Payton, and Huff could be dealt. source Boston Globe

Joel Sherman has an up date on the market for Raul Ibanez, the player the Mets are rumored to be most interested in and while he seems like a decent pickup, do we have room for another lefty. If your worried about Pedro Sherman also looks at the pitching market Blanton, Padilla and Millwood........

The New York Mets are far from alone in pursuing Seattle's Raul Ibanez. The Diamondbacks, Dodgers and Red Sox also are suitors. source NY Post

The Morning Journal says that the Indians are sellers but the pieces they have to offer might not be that appealing, which to me means the cost would be low and as I've said before Casey Blake is interesting to me.....

Casey Blake, Jhonny Peralta and Jamey Carroll are probably the only veterans in whom any contenders would have an interest. Source Morning Journal

The Morning Journal & Boston Globe (links above) articles break down the entire league, team by team and speculates who will be buyers and sellers, they then look at who the sellers will move. The Royals could move David DeJesus but the price will be steep, Cardinals could part with Chris Duncan, along with the Marlins and Jays players available.......
