John Delcos at Lo Hud Journal is reporting that the Mets are discussing acquiring Derrick Turnbow. The 2006 All-Star and former Brewers closer is a mere shell of himself. The brewers placed the struggling reliever on waivers Friday, not only is he having a hard time pitching but is unhappy with his situation in Milwaukee.
I just don't see how he would be a good fit here, the Mets already have one former dominant reliever struggling and they hardly have the time to baby sit another reclamation project. Turnbow is closer to the end of the game with the Brewers with Gagne blowing saves regularly then he would be behind Wagner, Sanchez and Feliciano.
Prior to being placed on waivers Turnbow was 0-1 with a 15.63 ERA.
The Mets are discussing whether to sign reliever Derrick Turnbow, recently designated for assignment by the Milwaukee Brewers source Lo Hud journal
