2009 Mets Battle cry

“It takes more than five superstars to win a World Series. Tonight was a total team effort. Stokes comes in, in that situation, and gets the best hitter in baseball to hit in to a double play. That’s what it’s going to take, you know. Fernando Martinez gets on a plane, shows up in the seventh, and gets a bunt down… Murphy hits a home run. You know, it’s a total team effort. If you’re gonna talk about team wins, tonight was a great example and that’s what we need to do.” : source Metsblog

Pagan day-to-day

Good news for Angel Pagan, his MRI came back as a just contusion and he'll be listed as day-to-day. Pagan thought that as he dove into the stands for a foul ball he felt his shoulder dislocate and then pope back in place. Most believed he would end up on the disable list, so for it to have turned out to be so minor is a refreshing surprise.

But is does force the team to make a tough decision this weekend. Castro and Wise are due back and if Pagan had gone on the DL both could have returned with no real impact on the team ( unless your Raul Casanova). Now Omar and Co. have to decide who will go to make room for Matt Wise, it clearly should be Jorge Sosa but will more then likely be Joe Smith. The just don't eat contracts and that's what would happen if they DFA Sosa, Smith has been a better pitcher but still has options.

An MRI taken on Thursday revealed that Mets outfielder Angel Pagan has a contusion of his left shoulder, the result of his crashing into the stands on Wednesday afternoon at Dodger Stadium. Pagan is day-to-day. source MLB.com
