Another solid start by Armas

Tonight for the Zephyrs Tony Armas Jr. pitched seven scoreless innings in which he allowed two hits and one walk, while striking out five. Armas finally got a win for his efforts and improved his record to 2-4 while lowering his ERA 2.63. Armas has the fifth lowest WHIP (1.11) in AAA and is clearly better then a AAA pitcher. It's nice to have such an arm as a back-up plan but I wonder if he'll begin to demand a release so that he can catch on with a team in need of a starter or long reliever. There just doesn't appear to be a spot on the major league roster anytime soon. The Mets aren't carrying a long reliever but there's no one to send down for him to take the spot.
