2009 Mets Battle cry

“It takes more than five superstars to win a World Series. Tonight was a total team effort. Stokes comes in, in that situation, and gets the best hitter in baseball to hit in to a double play. That’s what it’s going to take, you know. Fernando Martinez gets on a plane, shows up in the seventh, and gets a bunt down… Murphy hits a home run. You know, it’s a total team effort. If you’re gonna talk about team wins, tonight was a great example and that’s what we need to do.” : source Metsblog

"Don't feel sorry for the Metropolitans." - Alex Cora, yelling what seems to have become his motto for this team : source NJ.Com

Infirmary Report

The good news is that Ruben Gotay's MRI came back negative for any broken bones in her injured foot. Carlos Delgado is hitting off a tee and is targeting a return this weekend.

assistant general manager John Ricco announced that Ruben Gotay's CT scan came back negative and there did not appear to be a fracture in his lower right leg or foot. source Newsday

The bad News is that two more Mets have gone down with injuries. Moises Alou has a groin injury and is returning to NY for an MRI. Jason Vargas who worked in yesterdays game has been sent to Philly with elbow soreness. It's amazing the Mets have 12 positional players who could make the team that would be on the DL if the season started today.....

Moises Alou is on his way to New York right now for medical tests, two days after complaining about pain in his right groin. He felt a strain and will undergo an MRI when he deplanes back home. source Star Ledger
