The Mets have an amazing amount of players that are not playing due to injuries, but for the most part those injuries are minor or actually recovery time due to off-season surgery. Up til this point Ruben Gotay was the worse injury which still wont have that much impact on the opening day line-up. But now the Mets are faced with the most significant injury of this young season, Moises Alou will be out 4-6 weeks because he needs hernia surgery. Everyone expected Alou to go down with an injury at some point this season but not this early. Now the Mets line-up is missing it's most power right handed bat next to David Wright. With Delgado having hip issues the Mets were relying even more on Alou as that RBI power producing bat. I expect the Mets to make a move and bring in a player who can fill Alou's spot and then move to the bench as a right handed power bat who can player 1B/OF. They have some nice role players in Pagan and Clark but they are singles hitters.......
Moises Alou learned on Wednesday that he'll need to undergo surgery for a hernia. The outfielder will be out four to six weeks. source MLB.com
