Phillies Sign Jenkins

ESPN is reporting that the Phillies have signed Geoff Jenkins to a two year deal. So the Phillies have replaced outfielders Rowand and Bourn with Snelling and Jenkins, along with starter Chad Durbin for Freddy Garcia. So far the only up-grade is Brad Lidge over Gordon as the closer, if Myers was heading to the rotation. Jenkins will probably have great power numbers in Philly but his average has dropped yearly and he's the equivalent of Shawn Green in the field.....

The Philadelphia Phillies and free agent outfielder Geoff Jenkins have reached preliminary agreement on a two-year deal believed to be worth about $13 million. source ESPN
